We had this problem with water coming out of the clock.

I got a long length (3 metres) of curtain wire, the white plastic coated wire stuff and inserted it down the drain holes inside the sunroof. It exit's inside the front wheel linners so you wont see it emerge unless you remove these - I didn't, so had to guess that I had gone far enough. Once I removed the wire it came out quite dirty so it must have unblocked the rubbish. I then flushed with a little water from a jug. It seemed to work - touch wood, no water ingress since.

Someone told me that there are also rear drains out of the sunroof, but I haven't tried to find them yet!!!

Hope this helps?

Thanks JDF I will try that tomorrow and hopefully its sorts the problem as I want to sell her soon to make way for 2 smaller cars and I can't sell her on if shes letting in water as a horrid ford dealer done this to us once when he sold us a ford escort that let in more water than it kept out! :D

yes there are rear drains iirc they go along to the rear wheels, but very difficult to get to them because there attached to the frame of the sunroof.

Aha! The drivers side sunroof drain was blocked but am wondering if this would really let in this amount of water and the compartment under the drivers seat was filled too i've dried it of for the moment and i suppose i really need to wait till the next lot of rain comes in :D and can anyone shed some light into what the wires under the drivers seat are as they were submerged

Have you got heated seats? If so, that's probably what the wires are for. The passenger side is worst if it get's wet, the central locking controller is there.

The wet dog smell's not good as it can mean it starting to go moldy.

Ideally you would take the carpets out to dry them and air them but it's not a quick job to do.

It will dry out evertually and in the meantime get lots of air freshners.
